At the same time, Minister Luong Tam Quang, Chairman of the Management Board of the People's Police Comradeship Fund, also issued a Decision on supporting the amount of 100 million VND from the People's Police Comradeship Fund for the family of comrade Nguyen Dong Canh.
Previously, on the morning of September 8, Major Nguyen Dong Canh and 4 officers and soldiers of Xuan Loc Commune Police, Dak Lak Province, chased Nguyen Van Ty (born in 1995, residing in Hamlet 4, Xuan Loc Commune) - the subject who intentionally caused injury to his sister-in-law, who was living in the same house.
During the pursuit, Major Nguyen Dong Canh was stabbed multiple times by Ty, who fought back with a knife, causing his death. At around 12:40 p.m., the police arrested Nguyen Van Ty. At the police station, during the initial interrogation, Ty confessed to his crime.
On the morning of September 9, 2025, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, signed a decision to posthumously promote the rank of comrade Nguyen Dong Canh (Xuan Loc Commune Police, Dak Lak Province) who died while on duty.
