According to Tien Phong Newspaper, in the area of the two-story building serving teaching and learning, large pieces of concrete on the ceiling fell down, along with the system of supporting columns and concrete railings broken, exposing the iron inside.

Some exposed iron and concrete positions are very dangerous for students if they collide with them.

In the classrooms, the ceilings and walls were covered with black mold. In some classrooms, large pieces of concrete from the ceiling fell off, breaking the tile floors.

Ms. Pham Thu Trang, resident of Hiep Hoa ward (formerly Cong Hoa ward), indignantly said that the first time she brought her child to school she felt shocked.

"I don't know how teachers have to teach children in such an environment where they always have to worry about safety. A school that is in danger of collapsing at any time, it looks like an abandoned school!", said Ms. Trang.

Another parent said that the new school year 2025 will start in less than a month, but when she came to the school and saw the degraded facilities, dusty desks and chairs, moldy ceilings and walls, she felt reluctant to send her child to study here. "The other day, I went to pick up my nephew who was studying here and thought I had mistakenly entered an abandoned school. I had heard a lot about this school, but I didn't think it was this shabby inside!"

Mr. Huy Chi shared that he accidentally went to Cong Hoa Secondary School and his first impression was that the school looked like it had been abandoned for decades. "The whole school was deserted, the facilities were degraded, and broken electric wires were hanging precariously from the ceiling and walls of the classrooms. The new school year is approaching, the students need a safe learning environment," said Mr. Huy Chi.

In addition, Typhoon Yagi , which hit Quang Ninh in September 2024, swept away the entire corrugated iron roof system of the two-story building and punctured some areas of the school. However, nearly a year later, all facilities affected by Typhoon Yagi have yet to be repaired.

It is known that in the 2023-2024 school year, Cong Hoa Secondary School has more than 700 students, and the school has completed enrollment for the new 2025-2026 school year.

As the new school year is about to begin, the dilapidated school that does not meet the learning conditions for their children is becoming a major concern for many parents.
