Tran Ngoc Anh becomes new FIFA referee, Vietnamese football excited

Before 2025, Vietnam had 4 male FIFA referees: Ngo Duy Lan, Hoang Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Manh Hai, Le Vu Linh. Another male referee has just been approved by FIFA, Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh. Thus, Vietnam will have a total of 5 male FIFA referees from 2025.

The list of FIFA male assistant referees has not changed. Vietnam still has 7 FIFA male assistant referees including: Nguyen Trung Hau, Pham Hoai Tam, Nguyen Trung Viet, Phan Huy Hoang, Tran Duy Khanh, Nguyen Lam Minh Dang and Truong Duc Chien.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Anh is the new FIFA referee from 2025.

The three current female FIFA referees in Vietnam are Bui Thu Trang, Le Thi Ly and Tran Thi Thanh. Bui Thu Trang and Le Thi Ly are the "whistleblowers" who are regularly recommended by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to officiate at international youth tournaments. In October, the referee who was honored by FIFA to officiate at the 2024 U.17 Women's World Cup was Le Thi Ly and was assigned to be the main referee.

The list of female FIFA assistant referees has a new name, Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen. Up to now, Vietnam has a total of 3 female FIFA assistant referees, including: Ha Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Hang Nga and Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen. Recently, Ha Thi Phuong was also assigned to work at the 2024 U.17 Women's World Cup.

Le Thi Yen Thao is the first female futsal referee in Vietnam to be recognized by FIFA. Meanwhile, the list of male FIFA futsal referees still has 3 names: Truong Quoc Dung, Huynh Nguyen Thanh and Thi Ly Hoang Ha.
