According to Tuoi Tre Online, on December 26, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) sent an official dispatch to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province regarding the continued coordination in organizing the second leg of the semi-final (December 29), and expectedly the first leg of the final of the ASEAN Cup 2024 (January 2, 2025) at Viet Tri Stadium.

On the Phu Tho province side, Mr. Nguyen Dac Thuy - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said he had received the document.

Whether or not the final match will be held depends on the result of the return match between Vietnam and Singapore (8pm on December 29). However, the stadium organizers are always proactive in preparing all conditions and specific plans to ensure the safest and most convenient organization of the team's matches.

At the ASEAN Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team chose Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho) as their home stadium instead of My Dinh National Stadium due to a music event schedule.

At Viet Tri Stadium, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team defeated Indonesia (1-0) and Myanmar (5-0) in the group stage and are looking forward to the second leg of the semi-final against Singapore.

According to statistics from the organizing committee, the previous two home matches of the Vietnamese team had nearly 17,000 spectators come to the stadium to cheer.

In the first leg of the semi-final on the evening of December 26 at Jalan Besar Stadium, the Vietnamese team won 2-0 against Singapore. The goals were scored by Nguyen Tien Linh (penalty, 90+11′) and Nguyen Xuan Son (90+14′).

After the match, coach Kim Sang Sik said that although they have a big advantage for a place in the final, the whole team will still maintain high concentration and prepare carefully for the second leg.
