On the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day, June 28, Thanh Tri Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Team (Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police) organized the program "Young Firefighters" with the participation of nearly 100 children of officers and soldiers in the unit.

Participating in the “Young Firefighters” experience, the children were given knowledge about fire prevention and fighting by the officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police in the form of questions and answers with rewards. Through real-life situations and instructions on how to handle situations from the firefighters, the children grasped the risks of fires in daily life, how to prevent them and basic knowledge on how to handle them when a fire is detected…
Children begin to get acquainted with firefighting work by listening to an introduction to fire prevention and fighting equipment and means such as fire trucks, hoses, fire hoses, gas masks, etc.
Knowing how to use common tools (towels, blankets, basins of water) to avoid smoke and toxic gases when a fire occurs is one of the important and practical skills.

After the theory part, the students will take turns participating in practice, overcoming challenges such as escaping from high-rise buildings by ladder truck; moving by fire truck, crossing a space with toxic gas, rescuing victims in a fire... equipping them with instinctive, natural reflexes when falling into dangerous situations; basic, most necessary life skills; overcoming fear; sense of discipline, operating effectively in the environment of the fire prevention and fighting police force...
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Khac Tuan, Deputy Head of the Staff Team (Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department) said that most of the children participating in the "Young Firefighters" experience today are children and teenagers, so to improve the quality and effectiveness of the program, the unit has also chosen situations and topics that are close to reality and the daily life that the children often come into contact with.
In addition, the unit has also integrated propaganda content into games and interactive questions to encourage thinking and creativity and attract attention.

This is a meaningful activity for children of officers and soldiers during the summer holidays. Thereby, it contributes to propagating, spreading and raising awareness and skills in preventing and handling fires right from the start, as well as knowing how to rescue and escape when an incident occurs. At the same time, the experiential activity also helps students understand more about the specific profession of Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police officers.
