Winter-spring rice harvested later for increased yield

Thanks to production on schedule, the 2023-2024 winter-spring rice crop in Ham Thuan Bac district is now entering the peak harvest period. Currently, farmers in the district have completed harvesting more than 7,355 hectares, accounting for 91.2% of the sown area.

According to the assessment of the professional sector, the yield of winter-spring rice this year is stable compared to last year, reaching an average of approximately 63.5 quintals/ha. Notably, in the later harvested areas, the yield is 1-2 quintals/ha higher than the early harvested areas, with some localities having a yield of 5 quintals/ha higher. For example, in Thuan Minh commune, the average yield at the beginning of the harvest season is about 65 quintals/ha, and at peak harvest time, the yield is 70 quintals/ha; in Ham Phu commune, the yield at the beginning of the harvest season is 62 quintals/ha, and currently the yield is 64 quintals/ha...
