On the afternoon of July 25, a representative of the Traffic Police Department informed that during the above period, the Department will take the lead in tightening the management of transportation activities and correcting long-term violations that cause traffic insecurity.
According to the Traffic Police Department, the current management of transportation business activities has many shortcomings, especially at sources of violations such as yards, ports, and cargo gathering areas. Control from the root is not effective, leading to many violations of traffic safety and order occurring commonly and tending to increase.

The objective of this general inspection is to grasp the situation of transport activities; check compliance with legal regulations by vehicle owners, drivers, and transport business organizations; promptly detect and strictly handle violations, especially violations with high risk of causing traffic accidents.
On the road, the traffic police force focuses on commercial vehicles such as passenger cars with 8 seats or more, container trucks, semi-trailers, construction material trucks, long-distance trucks, etc. With these types of vehicles, the authorities will check operating conditions such as journey monitoring devices, cameras recording drivers, operating schedules, etc.
Along with that, checking vehicle drivers, focusing on violations of alcohol and drug levels, speeding, overloading, driving in the wrong lane, reckless overtaking, not obeying traffic lights, not giving way...
For waterways, traffic police will strengthen control on key freight and passenger transport routes, seaports, fishing ports, passenger wharves, tourist attractions, festivals, and entertainment venues on rivers and lakes with overnight stays...
A representative of the Traffic Police Department affirmed that the general control plan will be public, transparent, absolutely uphold the law, and resolutely and strictly handle cases of resisting law enforcement officers and systematic violations.
