Receiving relics of King Ham Nghi brought back from France

Many relics were donated to the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum by descendants of King Ham Nghi.


On October 25, at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts, a working delegation from the Hue Monuments Conservation Center (Thua Thien Hue province) and the People's Committee of Cam Lo district ( Quang Tri province) received a memento of King Ham Nghi donated by a descendant of King Ham Nghi - Dr. Amandine Dabat representing the family.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, these relics were directly handed over by Dr. Amandine Dabat to the Vietnamese Embassy in Paris and the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts during her working trip to France at the end of September 2024, and were then brought back to Vietnam by the Vietnamese Embassy in Paris.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh, Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, handed over the intact packaged relics to Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Bac, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Lo district.

According to Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, the activity of receiving the relics of King Ham Nghi is extremely important, not only for the work of preserving heritage but also in evoking and honoring the historical values of the nation.

These relics are living proof of a period full of ups and downs in Vietnamese history.

The repatriation of the relics provides a valuable opportunity for the people of the country, especially the younger generation, to admire and learn more about the patriotic king.

The event also expressed the gratitude of Dr. Amandine Dabat, a descendant of King Ham Nghi, to his roots, and contributed to deepening the cultural cooperation between Vietnam and the world.
