On the morning of February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), at DT. 746 Street, Tan Hiep Ward, Tan Uyen City, Binh Duong Province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders of central ministries and branches attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway, the section passing through Binh Duong Province.

The Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh Expressway project, the section passing through Binh Duong province, has a total length of about 52 km, planned with a scale of 6 expressway lanes, design speed of 100 km/h.
In phase 1, the project is invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), with a scale of 4 expressway lanes, continuous emergency lanes along the entire route, a roadbed width of 25.5m, and a total investment of about 17,400 billion VND.
This expressway connects Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to Chon Thanh town (Binh Phuoc province), creating development momentum for the Southeast region, expanding urban and industrial space.

When the Chon Thanh – Gia Nghia Expressway is completed, it will continue to connect with the Central Highlands region, creating regional connectivity, promoting socio-economic development, while ensuring national defense and security. This project also contributes to realizing the goal of 5,000 km of expressway set by the Party and Government in the 2021-2030 period.
