Income at medical schools in Ho Chi Minh City ranges from over 2 million to over 30 million VND/person.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Ho Chi Minh City has just published details of the monthly income of each individual in the entire school.

This is one of the few public universities that publicly discloses the monthly income details of each individual, including school leaders.

School leaders' income ranges from 19.9 - 28.8 million VND

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine recently published the entire monthly salary and allowance payment schedule of more than 900 cadres, lecturers, staff and workers on the school's official electronic information portal.

According to the publicly disclosed salary table, in August 2025, the total income of the board members and the school board chairman fluctuated between 19.9 - 28.8 million VND/person/month (excluding personal income tax).

Specifically, the Vice Principal in charge of school operations has the highest income in the board of directors, at 28.8 million VND. The other two Vice Principals receive incomes of 27.4 million and 24.6 million VND, respectively.

The chairman of the school board, who is also the school's Party Secretary, has an income of 19.9 million VND per month.

The lowest income of workers is over 2 million, the highest is over 30 million VND.

For the staff, lecturers, officers, employees and workers of the school, the income in August was quite different, ranging from the lowest level of over 2 million VND to the highest level of over 30 million VND/person/month.

Most of the employees in the school receive a common salary of about 9 - 12 million VND/month. Some lecturers and staff have an income of 20 million VND or more.

Notably, there are cases where income exceeds 30 million VND in a month due to receiving back wages and allowances from previous months.

Total income of each employee includes: basic salary, allowances and other additional income (if any).

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine currently has a total of 919 staff and employees. In August 2025, the total amount the school paid for salaries, allowances and additional income for all staff was more than 11,172 billion VND.

Autonomous public university

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine is a public university under the national education system, directly managed by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. In terms of expertise, the school is under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Training.

The school exercises autonomy and accountability in accordance with the provisions of law on academics and professional activities, organizational structure and personnel, finance and assets, planning, and school development plans.

The school is currently vacant of a principal. Associate Professor, Doctor of Pharmacy Nguyen Dang Thoai is currently the Vice Principal in charge of school management and operations.
