"Vietnam News Agency contributes to fostering special Vietnam-Laos relationship"

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam News Agency (September 15, 1945 - September 15, 2025), Vietnam News Agency reporters in Vientiane interviewed Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong, Head of the External Relations Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee, about the role of Vietnam News Agency in contributing to fostering and developing Vietnam-Laos relations.

As someone who has studied in Vietnam for many years and has worked closely with Vietnamese leaders and especially regularly follows information from Vietnam News Agency, especially news articles from reporters of the Resident Office in Laos, Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong said that Vietnam News Agency has been making practical contributions to consolidating and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

In particular, Vietnam News Agency plays an important role in propaganda and information dissemination, helping people of the two countries understand more deeply the history, formation and development of this special relationship.

The Head of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission expressed his appreciation for the quality of the content, the way it was presented, and the quickness in reflecting important political and diplomatic events between the two countries.

He emphasized that the news and articles of Vietnam News Agency are very diverse and updated promptly, especially information related to high-level visits, delegation exchanges, talks, and cooperation signings between leaders of the two countries.

This is an important information channel to help people of Laos and Vietnam better understand the policies, guidelines and results of cooperation between the two sides.

Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong expressed his deep impression when recalling an important event that took place in April 2025, the State visit to Laos by President Luong Cuong.

He assessed this as a political milestone of great significance in the comprehensive friendship and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.

According to Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong, Vietnam News Agency has promptly, fully and vividly reflected the activities within the framework of the visit, from high-level talks to Laos-Vietnam friendship meetings and exchanges.

These rich propaganda contents contributed to highlighting the political significance and symbolic value of the visit, while helping people of the two countries better understand the close relationship and trust between the two Parties and two States.

The Head of the External Relations Commission of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee emphasized that the Vietnam News Agency has conveyed information about Laos-Vietnam relations in a diverse manner, through many forms and platforms such as electronic newspapers and social networks.

This demonstrates the flexibility, creativity and quick adaptability of Vietnam News Agency in the digital media era, contributing to improving the effectiveness of propaganda and reaching the public, especially the young generation.

This is also proof of the increasingly important role of Vietnam News Agency in foreign affairs and international propaganda.

The Head of the External Relations Department of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee also shared that in today's context, when people's access to information has changed dramatically, the Vietnam News Agency's proactive reporting on social networking platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, etc. is a very right step in the right direction.

According to him, this not only helps official information reach more audiences, especially young people, but also contributes to raising social awareness of the role and importance of the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

Today’s young people are the ones who will inherit and develop the relationship between the two nations. Helping the younger generation understand correctly, deeply and take pride in the special Laos-Vietnam solidarity is the factor that ensures the longevity of this relationship. And the Vietnam News Agency is doing a very good job of that role.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam News Agency, Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong respectfully sent his congratulations to the Board of Directors, all staff, reporters, editors and technicians of Vietnam News Agency.

He expressed his belief that the Vietnam News Agency will continue to be the main information force of the Party and State of Vietnam in the work of propagating and disseminating domestic and foreign policies; at the same time, continue to maintain its role as a bridge in the special, loyal and pure solidarity between Laos and Vietnam./.
