According to leak expert ShrimpApplePro, the standard iPhone 17 is equipped with a 3,692 mAh battery, 3.6% higher than the iPhone 16. The iPhone 17 Pro Max has the largest battery, reaching 5,088 mAh, an increase of 8.6% compared to the previous generation.

Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro has the most powerful upgrade when the battery capacity jumps nearly 19%, up to 4,252 mAh. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Air is surprising when the number stops at 3,149 mAh, about 4.8% lower than the iPhone 16 Plus.

What the tech world is interested in is the battery capacity separation between the eSIM versions and the physical SIM tray versions. With the 3 iPhone 17 Air, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max eSIM versions, the battery capacity seems to be 5% higher than the physical SIM version.

This is the first time Apple has made use of the empty space after removing the physical SIM slot. Previously, this area was just filled with a rubber piece, which did not bring any real benefit to users.

This change can be explained by the plan to expand the eSIM-only iPhone to more markets this year. Optimizing the internal space helps Apple maintain a compact design while increasing battery life, an important factor for users. These upgrades also make the iPhone 17 Pro the most anticipated model, with a rare battery improvement in many years.

However, all the information is just a leak. It was not until after the “Awe Dropping” event that the real battery capacity of the iPhone 17 was confirmed.
