To realize this goal, it requires a synchronous combination of innovation, improving the quality of human resources, investing in science and technology and arousing the national spirit in the process of industrialization and modernization. In response to this problem, cultural management agencies and cultural experts have made contributions to soon realize this dream.
Mr. Ho An Phong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism:
Vietnam could become a top exhibition destination in Asia

With the launch of the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Dong Anh (Hanoi), which is modernly designed and ranked among the top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world , Vietnam has the opportunity to host and organize many large-scale cultural events, exhibitions and international fairs.
The project is inspired by the image of the Golden Turtle, a symbol of the culture and history of the capital, while also contributing to strongly promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world. This is also an important stepping stone for Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general to strongly develop the exhibition and fair industry.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition and fair industry has become one of the important driving forces for economic growth, cultural exchange and international cooperation. This is the field that directly connects businesses, markets and consumers, and is also a bridge between knowledge, technology and creativity. Exhibition events are also a space to spread cultural identity, inspire creativity and thereby expand investment cooperation.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) will accompany organizations and businesses to focus on developing the exhibition industry associated with the cultural and entertainment industry ecosystem, making exhibitions a place where creativity, art, technology and commerce converge.
The Ministry will also promote tourism through large-scale international tourism fairs, integrating exhibition events with promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam, thereby attracting international tourists and expanding the market; promote and attract MICE tourism, considering this a strategic direction to improve quality, increase value and affirm the Vietnamese tourism brand on the world map.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will create all conditions to promote public-private cooperation, encourage event organizing businesses, domestic and foreign investors to participate in order to contribute to building the brand "Vietnam - Asia's Exhibition Destination".
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son - Full-time member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society:
Awakening national spirit of creativity

National spirit is the most sustainable “material” for creativity. From music, cinema, fine arts, to fashion, design or video games... if they only follow market tastes without national roots, creative products can easily become hybrid and bland.
On the contrary, works that exploit traditional values and combine them with modern quintessence often leave a strong impression. The proof is that Vietnamese cinema has reached hundreds of billions of VND in revenue with works that evoke historical inspiration, or art programs that combine folk songs, traditional musical instruments with modern performance technology, always attracting a large number of young audiences.
Arousing national creativity first of all requires respect for cultural heritage. Vietnam currently possesses thousands of historical relics, hundreds of intangible heritages and a diverse folk art treasure. This is a “gold mine” for the cultural industry. However, many values are still dormant, not yet exploited into attractive products. Therefore, what needs to be done is to transform heritage into new, creative experiences.
In addition, young artists and creators need to be encouraged to engage. They are the ones who understand the contemporary breath and have the ability to recreate their identity in a new language. Policies to support creative startups, investment funds for cultural industries or community creative spaces are nurturing environments for young talents to "take root" and "blossom". In particular, educating the national spirit for young people does not stop at books, but needs to spread through vivid cultural and artistic experiences, so that the new generation can be proud and proactive in creating based on Vietnamese identity.
Arousing national creativity also means opening the door to the world. In the context of integration, Vietnamese values need to be “translated” into the global language through digital technology, online platforms, international cinema or art festivals. Only when the national spirit is widely spread can the Vietnamese cultural industry affirm its competitive position and make a strong contribution to the economy.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong - Director of the Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism):
Expanding creative spaces in cultural industries

The fact that the National Achievement Exhibition dedicated an area to introduce 12 cultural industries sent a strong message that the cultural industry is becoming a new pillar of development for the country.
Organizing open spaces and connecting industries together is necessary for the public and creatives to have a comprehensive view of the key areas of culture, which are being focused on investment and promise to bring great value not only in spirit. Products such as publishing, cinema, fashion, software - entertainment games, or cultural tourism... present at the exhibition contribute to affirming the role, position and importance of each field, while highlighting the connection between creators in each industry group.
After the exhibition, I hope to have more trade fairs and promotion activities for the 12 cultural industries to connect businesses with the public and investors. Besides, it can be seen that if we want to develop cultural industries as a key economic sector, the growth rate in this field must reach double digits.
To do that, there needs to be many policies to support investment or open up many opportunities for public-private cooperation for the development of cultural industries. Along with that, there needs to be funds to support businesses, young talents or venture capital projects for the cultural industry. I think that if we want the cultural industry to become a spearhead economic sector, we need to invest in a focused, prioritized manner and open up stronger opportunities for public-private cooperation.
