After finishing the last exam - Math, in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City, many candidates cried because of the difficulty of the exam. Nguyen Ngoc Thien Y, a student at Tran Huy Lieu Secondary School, said she could not do the geometry test because it was difficult and long. The female student predicted that she would only get about 6-7 points. The female student assessed that the exam had good differentiation, with difficult and easy questions mixed together.
Many candidates burst into tears and hugged their loved ones because they could not do the test as they wanted.

Mr. Do Van Bao, a teacher at Vinschool, said that this year's 10th grade math entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City is quite safe, closely following the sample exam that the Department of Education and Training previously announced. Some ideas even overlap with the sample exam.

The test includes 7 questions similar to the reference test (1 question less than the 10th grade entrance exam in 2024 - 2025 - last year), adding the Graph Data and Probability sections. The test is consistent with the spirit of the new generaleducation program with 4/7 questions taking material from real-life problems, modeling them into math problems, so that students can think, reason, calculate, solve problems, and draw conclusions.
In general, the test is not too difficult, especially there are not many changes compared to the sample test. Students who present and calculate carefully can get 8 points or more. The test gives the necessary calculation formulas in the spatial geometry section, so students only need to apply and calculate carefully to get points in this section.
The proportion of understanding and application levels is the majority, in line with the spirit of the new education program, emphasizing the application of knowledge in solving practical problems. The test is graded in questions 6 and 7.
"With a high level of differentiation in the exam, but the questions are quite clear and detailed, it is still possible to get more 9 and 10 points than previous years," said Mr. Bao.

Mr. Le Van Hung, a teacher specializing in preparing exam questions in Ho Chi Minh City, assessed that the Math exam was not too difficult and did not have any "traps" as many students thought. Lessons 1 to 4 are easy to score points. Students only need to have solid knowledge to easily get 6-7 points.
The score is divided equally among the first 4 questions, while the last 3 questions do not have too much score. Many students who could not do questions 5, 6, and 7 were afraid that they would not get the desired score and cried. The most difficult questions on the exam were questions 6 and 7c in geometry, which are the weak points of most students. To get a score of 9-10, candidates must overcome this difficult challenge.
“Overall, the content of this year's Math exam is quite good, clear, fair, closely following the current program and practical orientation. It is predicted that the average score will be quite high,” Mr. Hung added.
