Pilot model of "Sea tourism security patrol team"

The hot weather has made the beaches an attractive destination for thousands of people and tourists to come and play and swim. To ensure security and order, from the beginning of 2025, Phuoc My Ward Police (Son Tra District) has coordinated with the Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang tourist beaches to pilot the model of "Sea tourism security patrol team".

At the beach, there are cases where people take advantage of tourists' carelessness, especially during rush hours such as early morning or late afternoon, to steal phones, wallets, and handbags and then quickly leave the scene. Mr. Huynh Chi Kien (Hai Chau district) shared: "I see that people who come here to swim are quite subjective, often leaving their belongings right on the sand without anyone watching. Thieves are very sophisticated now, pretending to be tourists passing by and waiting for a moment of carelessness to steal things, sometimes before anyone discovers them, they have disappeared."

Faced with the above situation, the authorities and the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches have increased many measures to ensure security and order in the beach area. According to the representative of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang beaches, recently, the unit has discovered and handled 5 cases with signs of law violations at the beach; at the same time, coordinated to return 25 cases of picked up property, including 8 cases supporting foreign tourists and one case with property worth up to 60 million VND.

The committee recommends that people and tourists using motorbikes should park their vehicles at guarded locations and absolutely do not keep valuables in the trunk. When walking, taking photos, or swimming, make sure there is someone to look after your belongings or use the storage service at the beach.

The Management Board has implemented many measures to increase the number of security guards, coordinating with the ward police to conduct regular patrols. At the same time, the loudspeaker system at the beaches has continuously broadcast warnings, reminding residents and tourists to raise awareness of protecting personal property.

In addition, the unit installed 10 signs advising visitors to protect their property at the beach in central locations along the beach and arranged patrol teams to propagate and advise residents and visitors not to leave their property on the beach when there is no one to look after it. In addition, residents and visitors are instructed to leave their belongings in locker areas in the fresh water showers, or at umbrella and chair service points, refreshments with staff to look after their property.

Sharing more about solutions to strengthen security and order at sea, Mr. Nguyen Tran Bang, Chairman of Phuoc My Ward People's Committee, said that from the beginning of 2025, Phuoc My Ward Police will coordinate with the Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang tourist beaches to pilot the model of "Sea tourism security patrol team".

This model mobilizes the ward police, civil defense, neighborhood security forces and local volunteers to coordinate implementation. According to Mr. Bang, the patrol team operates regularly, focusing on peak hours during peak tourist hours to control the situation, maintain security and order, and create a safe and friendly tourism environment for residents and tourists.
