Construction of more than 1,000 model new rural works

The entire city of Hai Phong has implemented construction of 1,059 out of a total of 1,139 model new rural works.

A model new rural road in Vinh Hoa commune is under slow construction, affecting the daily life and travel of local people.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hai Phong City, up to now, the whole city has implemented construction of 1,059/1,139 model new rural works in 2024 in localities (reaching 93%), of which 232 works have been completed. The average construction volume is estimated at more than 60%.

However, the progress of implementing model new rural projects in 2024 in localities is still slow. For example, in Vinh Hoa commune, old Vinh Bao district, up to now, no model new rural traffic project has been completed and put into use. In Vinh Thuan and Vinh Thinh communes, the number of completed projects put into use is still low...

Due to unfavorable weather, high material prices, and scarcity of supply, contractors faced many financial difficulties. Some projects took a long time to complete land procedures, apply for permits, and clear the site, so construction was delayed.

In addition, there are some contractors winning bids for many projects and works at the same time, so the ability to mobilize human resources and materials to organize construction of works cannot ensure progress.

In order to speed up the implementation of model new rural construction projects, in the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to coordinate with localities to focus on urging model new rural construction projects, focusing on traffic works and schools, striving to basically complete and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Implementing the model new rural construction program in 2024, the whole city has a total of 1,139 works, of which the communes in the east of Hai Phong have 1,047 works, and the communes in the west of the city have 92 works.
