Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc

The younger generation is increasingly interested in and wants to learn about history.

If in the past, many young people thought that history was dry and difficult to remember, today, the exhibition "95 years of the Party Flag lighting the way" has turned history from seemingly dry pages into an emotional experience, arousing in young people the pride and responsibility to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors.

Throughout the streets of Hanoi and all over the country, the bright and joyful atmosphere welcoming the National Day on September 2nd is spreading strongly. That pride is not only felt in the homeland, but also spread to the hearts of Vietnamese people all over the world. If in the past, many young people were still vague about history, now, through exhibitions and discussions, they have a better understanding of the journey of building and defending the country of their ancestors. The more they understand, the more proud and appreciative they are.

Young people find themselves in the flow of history

These days, stepping into the exhibition space "95 years of the Party Flag lighting the way", a special highlight within the framework of the national exhibition "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" taking place at the National Exhibition Center, many young people were silent before the heroic historical pages being recreated.

Through the exhibition, the children felt that history is no longer just numbers and dry events, but a vivid, heroic, glorious journey, arousing pride and responsibility. In the atmosphere of celebrating National Day September 2, patriotism seems to have erased the generation gap. Today's youth are passionately searching for the imprint of youth 80 years ago, and at the same time, with their enthusiasm, are continuing to write the history pages for the next 80 years.

The stories about comrades: Tran Phu, Le Hong Phong, Ha Huy Tap, Nguyen Van Cu, the General Secretaries who devoted their blood and bones when they were only in their twenties, make many students today pause and ponder.

Bui Thu Uyen, a student at the University of Public Health , shared: "As young people who love history, we feel very excited to be immersed in such a meaningful event space. I was very impressed when learning about the background and career of the General Secretaries from 1930-1945. When they were young, they devoted themselves and were ready to sacrifice for national independence, leaving a spiritual legacy for future generations. I am extremely proud and grateful to the previous generation who regained independence for the Vietnamese people."

Youth today, continue to write history tomorrow

The exhibition also opened up discussion sessions for young people to directly dialogue with researchers. The discussion session with the theme: "Young generation with the aspiration for independence and freedom of their ancestors" inspired young people with valuable lessons about the aspiration for independence of their ancestors.

At the seminar, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Ha, former Deputy Director of the Institute of Military History, helped the young participants visualize the 15-year journey since the Communist Party of Vietnam was born: From 1930 to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945. From the early days when only a few hundred party members were operating secretly, to the sacrifices and losses when four General Secretaries were arrested and executed, and then the Party still steadfastly led the nation to victory. Those stories, according to him, are proof of the resilience of a young generation ready to sacrifice blood and bones for ideals, for the belief in national independence.

Hearing those words, many young students sitting below fell silent. History, which seemed distant, suddenly became a familiar story, awakening pride and a sense of responsibility.

Journalist Tran Mai Anh commented: "People are still used to using the concepts of "young generation" and "older generation", but these days, it seems that there is no longer such a distinction, because patriotism has no generational boundaries. What is valuable is that young people are not only interested in history, but also look at the previous generation as insiders, not just with curiosity."

The journalist added: " In addition, people from the previous generation are also interested in what today's young generation is thinking. Therefore, history is not only for those who do in-depth research, but the period 80 years ago is the material for today's young generation to explore and research."

Students and young people left the exhibition not only with the feeling of “hearing stories” about the past, but also with the desire to live up to the previous generations, to their ancestors. With those experiences, history has truly “revived” for the young people. It is no longer a gap of 80 years, but a continuous continuity, becoming an aspiration today, then reaching out to tomorrow.
