Creating jobs and income for rural workers

Ms. Nguyen Chi Mai, Head of the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development (Department of Agriculture and Environment) said: Trainees participating in these vocational classes are trained for at least 3 months, and enjoy support policies on training costs, food and travel expenses. After training, trainees are supported and connected to find jobs, encouraged to establish production and business groups or develop household economies, creating jobs and stable income.

With the province's determination, in the period of 2020-2025, over 8,000 rural workers in the province have been trained in vocational skills, have jobs and stable incomes, thereby improving their lives. Visiting the Hoan Minh Service Team in Hai Lang Commune on the day when the team members were in charge of making 30 trays of food for a family in the area. They are all ethnic minorities who have participated in a vocational training class on food preparation and service organized by the Tien Yen Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center. Mr. Duong Van Hoan, Head of the Hoan Minh Service Team, said: After participating in the vocational training class, from just cooking according to habit and experience, the members have all mastered the skills of preparing delicious, food-safe dishes, clearly understanding how to arrange trays of food and how to organize production, thereby confidently establishing a service team to serve customers.

Also participating in the vocational training program for rural workers, Mr. Hoang Van Thao, from Quang Tan commune, chose to learn the techniques of raising livestock and poultry. After learning the trade, Mr. Thao boldly implemented a comprehensive farm model with an orchard, fish pond, raising chickens, geese, buffaloes, and cows, achieving high economic efficiency.

Aiming to create jobs and increase income for rural workers, along with the vocational training program for rural workers, Quang Ninh province promotes vocational training to meet the needs of businesses, supports information, connects labor supply and demand, exports labor to foreign markets, implements deposits and lends deposits from the central budget for workers going to work in Korea according to regulations... In particular, Quang Ninh province improves the effectiveness of implementing support policies (costs of vocational training, foreign language learning, necessary knowledge training, costs of necessary procedures, loans...) for ethnic minorities, people from poor households, near-poor households or households whose agricultural land has been recovered, relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution who want to work abroad under contracts.

Quang Ninh is also a province that attracts investment, accompanies and supports businesses; creates favorable conditions for units and small and medium enterprises to develop; encourages the establishment of new and individual business households to become enterprises; develops and improves the operational efficiency of cooperatives, develops the private economy... These are units with great demand for recruiting workers, creating jobs and stable income for workers in general, including rural workers.

The province's solutions have helped Quang Ninh create about 30,000 additional jobs in 2024, support about 20,000 people to borrow capital to create jobs, support about 600 workers to work abroad under contracts... most of whom are rural workers.

According to Ms. Nguyen Chi Mai, in the period of 2026-2030, Quang Ninh province will continue to promote the goal of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas, as well as socio-economic development of the whole province. Vocational training and job creation will be fundamental solutions to improve income and quality of life of people in rural areas, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, shifting the labor structure, agricultural economic structure, turning rural areas into dynamic areas, with abundant growth potential, contributing significantly to the development of the province.
