Speaking at the workshop, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly Phan Van Hung emphasized: We often think that digital transformation, green transformation or startups are concepts for the young generation, for dynamic and innovative people. However, with their intelligence, life experience and inherent enthusiasm, the elderly can absolutely make a significant, even extremely important contribution to these processes.

Mr. Phan Van Hung said that the organization of this workshop aims to "comprehensively assess the needs and current situation of the elderly in accessing and participating in these fields.

Sharing at the workshop, Chairman of the Hanoi Elderly Association Nguyen The Toan emphasized the significance of the Project "Elderly people participating in promoting digital transformation, green transformation, entrepreneurship and job creation" according to Decision No. 379/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

“With a large number of elderly people and high qualifications (accounting for 16.08% of the city's population), the implementation of the Project in Hanoi is of special importance. This is both a task and an opportunity to strongly promote the role of the elderly in the capital, contributing to the cause of socio -economic development in the new era, the era of national development," said the Chairman of the Hanoi Association of the Elderly.

Chairman of the City Elderly Association Nguyen The Toan also proposed to develop easy-to-understand "digital handbooks" with simple content, focusing on essential skills such as using online public services, cashless payments and especially skills to prevent and combat fraud in cyberspace; support the provision of digital devices for the elderly...

Affirming the role of “Old age - shining example” of the elderly, Vice Chairman of Tay Ho Ward People's Committee Nguyen Viet Cuong said that Tay Ho District has always created conditions for the elderly in the area to promote their potential and experience, not only actively participating in emulation movements but also pioneering in many new fields. Typically, the Association has organized training sessions on digital transformation, green transformation and startups, directing 100% of grassroots associations and branches to apply Zalo and Facebook to connect members.

Concluding the workshop, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly Phan Tuan Hung said that from these in-depth analyses, the Association will have a more comprehensive view of opportunities and challenges; thereby proposing practical and effective solutions to maximize the role of the elderly in the overall development of the country.
