Specifically, the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year will be held at the National Convention Center , Hanoi, at 8:00 a.m. on September 5. The event will be broadcast live on VTV1 and connected online to all educational institutions nationwide, from kindergarten to university.
This is a rare event in the history of Vietnamese education when all universities and vocational education institutions, from public to non-public, will simultaneously hold opening ceremonies on the same day as preschool and general education levels, combining live in Hanoi and online to educational institutions.
The event has a "double" meaning, both welcoming the new school year and celebrating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training ), marking a long journey of development of the country's education.
