Many women have become typical examples in economic development, both bringing high income to their families and creating jobs for many workers, contributing to improving the new rural criteria in the locality.

Chairwoman of the Gia Lam Commune Women's Union, Hoang Thi Thuy Nga, said that the Union always focuses on propaganda activities and creates conditions to support women in economic development. Thanks to that, women members have changed their thinking and become more proactive in implementing family economic development models, boldly investing in production and business models that bring high efficiency.

Typically, Ms. Vu Thi Hanh in An Dao residential group, is a typical example of the Gia Lam Commune Women's Union, who has overcome difficulties to become rich legitimately and actively contributed to the community, spreading the spirit of "being good at public affairs and taking care of family affairs". The seedling business requires meticulousness, patience and practical knowledge. With the determination to constantly learn and love for her homeland, Ms. Hanh has gradually built up a reputation in the field of seedling production.

Thanks to her flexibility in market thinking and foresight, Ms. Hanh has produced many varieties of trees such as acacia, eucalyptus, xoan dao, jackfruit, grapefruit, star apple... supplying the Hanoi market and many provinces and cities across the country. Her family's nursery garden generates a profit of about 700 million VND/year and creates jobs for 8 local workers with an income of 300,000 VND/person/day. As an enthusiastic women's association member, Ms. Hanh regularly participates in branch meetings, sharing experiences in planting and trading seedlings with women in the village and hamlet. After receiving her support, many women have joined the business, have a stable income and become well-off. She is also always at the forefront of local movements such as participating in supporting people affected by floods, giving gifts to poor students who overcome difficulties, contributing funds to build village roads and alleys, aiming to improve the criteria of new rural areas...

Actively bringing agricultural products to consumers, Ms. Duong Thi Phuong in Thuan Quang village (Gia Lam commune) is one of the members with many achievements in developing the household economy. Her family's production and business facility "Phuong Quan processed onions" has 4 products of fried onions, dried onions, fried garlic, and fried potatoes that have achieved 3-star OCOP (One Commune One Product Program). Notably, the development of the facility also contributed to helping "Thuan Quang agricultural processing craft village" qualify to be recognized as a "Hanoi craft village".

Not only good at production and business, Ms. Phuong is always active in guiding and disseminating production experience to members and people, helping near-poor households develop their economy... Her family's production and business establishment is creating jobs for more than 20 workers with an average income of 7 to 10 million VND/person/month. In 2021, Ms. Phuong was awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" Medal by the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; for many consecutive years, she has been commended at all levels in the fields of: Exemplary cultural family, participating in the OCOP Program, building new rural areas...

Also an active woman, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang in the residential group of Duong 5 (Gia Lam commune) chose to start a business by selling fresh seafood. Ms. Giang shared that in 2022, she was supported by the Women's Union of the commune, helping her borrow preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank to invest in opening the "Giang Hai Nam" store. Thanks to the development of the business, in 2023 she continued to open another store and promote, introduce, and sell products on social networking sites Zalo, Facebook..., while helping many women working at the store to have a stable income.

Chairman of Gia Lam Commune People's Committee Duong Viet Cuong affirmed: The typical examples of women in economic development in Gia Lam Commune have been actively contributing to the locality in improving the criteria for new rural areas. The Commune People's Committee has also directed the Commune Women's Union to continue to exploit and manage well the capital sources to support members and women in economic development, help women start businesses; provide vocational training, job introduction; replicate typical examples of women who are good at economics, actively participate in movements launched by the Union and the government at all levels, actively join hands to build advanced and exemplary new rural areas in the locality.
