Formed from the northern communes of the old Tan Phu district, Phu Lam commune has a midland mountainous terrain, low hills distributed in the South and Southwest, and high hills in the North and Northeast. Mr. Pham Van Huong (residing in Phuong Lam hamlet, Phu Lam commune) said: His family migrated to Phu Lam commune before 1975. At that time, there was a lot of abandoned land, so he reclaimed 1 hectare of rice fields and 2 hectares of upland land. Thanks to favorable weather during the production process, he and his wife were able to raise 6 children to attend university.

In Phu Lam commune, there are religions such as Buddhism, Catholicism, Cao Dai and Protestantism. Religious and non-religious people all live in solidarity, maintaining their faith in the authorities at all levels.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Lam Commune, Nguyen Van Huong, said: Every year, religious establishments register and implement their programs of activities in accordance with regulations; State management of religion is well implemented, creating conditions for religions to operate in accordance with the law. The relationship between the government, the Fatherland Front and unions with religious organizations is increasingly consolidated, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.

Phu Lam has many potentials and advantages such as: mountains, rivers, lakes, fields; people are united, dynamic in labor production and friendly, affectionate in cultural and spiritual life. Notably, the commune has National Highway 20 passing through, Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway is invested in construction with an intersection of the expressway, 75ha industrial cluster, along with relics and scenic spots such as: Hung King Temple, Linh Phu Pagoda, Da Ton Lake, Hoa Binh Waterfall, favorable for socio-economic development.

In addition to focusing on socio-economic development and national unity, Phu Lam commune also pays attention to administrative reform. The locality always thoroughly educates its cadres and civil servants to strictly implement the agency's internal regulations, comply with discipline, administrative discipline, public ethics, communication culture and responsibility in performing public duties.

Chairman of Phu Lam Commune People's Committee Pham Thanh Hai shared: In the coming years, the commune will drastically and synchronously implement solutions, closely following the reality of bringing the Resolution of the 1st Commune Party Congress, term 2025-2030 into life. At the same time, efforts and determination to promote the potential advantages of the locality, build Phu Lam commune strong in trade and services, strengthen the implementation of industry and handicrafts to create a foundation for effective development of sustainable agriculture, organic agriculture, high-tech agriculture so that local agricultural products have brands and increase production value. In addition, the locality focuses on developing the culture of friendly and affectionate Phu Lam people.

From a difficult land, through the process of forming a population and a grassroots government system, Phu Lam commune has constantly changed over time. A notable milestone was when the government and people here started to build the National Target Program on new rural construction.

Deputy Secretary of Phu Lam Commune Party Committee Bui Thanh Nam expressed: The National Target Program on New Rural Development in localities before implementing the 2-level local government, has always received attention from leadership and direction with the synchronous participation of the entire political system and society. Therefore, the program has soon achieved many outstanding results, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and improving the material and spiritual life of local people. Up to now, 2 communes Thanh Son, Phu Son (old) have met the advanced new rural standards; 2 communes Phu Lam, Phu Binh (old) have met the model new rural standards.
