I will never forget the days when I was a child, all the children in the village would go to the commune center to listen to the radio program louder and clearer. And every night, thanks to the art program and storytelling on the radio, we could sleep well.
I don’t know since when, whenever I turn on the radio, I search for Hai Duong radio channel with frequency 104.5 Mhz to listen. In the past, radio programs were not as diverse and rich as they are now. Therefore, I remember and know each program broadcast, eagerly waiting for the time to listen.
When Hai Duong Television first appeared in the early 90s of the last century, radio was still very popular, a spiritual food that many people waited for and enjoyed. When people had better conditions, television developed more but radio programs were not overshadowed. We still listened to the radio regularly as a habit that is hard to break.
I have had the opportunity to be more closely associated with Hai Duong radio when I worked for 20 years as a grassroots radio broadcaster. In 2005, I was assigned to be an announcer at Dong Tam Commune Radio Station (now Ninh Giang Town Radio Station) when I was nearly 40 years old. Being familiar with Hai Duong radio programs, I grasped the job relatively smoothly. Because we are a grassroots radio station, we also prioritize broadcasting Hai Duong radio at suitable time slots with many listeners.
For me, Hai Duong radio is an important part of life. Nowadays, in the era of information technology explosion, information sources are increasingly diverse and abundant with many transmission methods. The trend of accessing information has also changed a lot. Readers prefer online newspapers and television. However, the role of radio is not underestimated. Not only me and my children, my grandchildren still enjoy Hai Duong radio programs such as news, arts, science, discussion, etc.
I still regularly listen to Hai Duong radio programs, not only because of work or memories of difficult times, but for me this is a habit that is hard to break. However, listening to radio programs is different now. In the past, a small radio was an indispensable item, but now, with just a smartphone, you can listen to the radio anytime, anywhere.
