Efforts to effectively implement the new rural construction and poverty reduction program

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just chaired a national conference to review the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NRD), the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the movements "The whole country joins hands to build NRD", "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021-2025. Comrade Ho Thi Nguyen Thao, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments and branches attended the conference at the Phu Yen province bridge.

After 5 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development and Sustainable Poverty Reduction, people's living conditions have improved significantly, especially in disadvantaged areas. Rural infrastructure has developed synchronously, essential services have been expanded; the poverty rate has decreased rapidly; the economic structure and labor structure have shifted positively, contributing to narrowing the development gap and regional disparities. To date, 12 provinces have been recognized by the Government as having completed the task of building New Rural Development, an increase of 8 provinces compared to the end of 2021. The poverty rate by the end of 2024 is 1.93%, decreasing by an average of 1.03%/year. The movements "The whole country joins hands to build New Rural Development", "For the poor - No one is left behind" have a strong and widespread influence throughout the political system and all classes of people. Millions of households have voluntarily donated more than 98.2 million ^square meters of land, contributing tens of thousands of billions of VND and working days to build the new rural area.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, sectors and localities to continue to persevere and steadfastly implement the goals and tasks of the new rural development and poverty reduction program, in order to realize the goal of building ecological agriculture , modern rural areas and civilized farmers. The focus is to continue to promote institutional improvement; develop strategic infrastructure; build and develop farmers in line with the new development stage.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 1 individual in Phu Yen province. The Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 18 collectives and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period and the movement "For the poor - leaving no one behind" for the 2021-2025 period in the province. In addition, 10 collectives and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement "Phu Yen joins hands to build new rural areas" for the 2021-2025 period were also awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee on this occasion.
