In recent years, eSports tournaments from amateur to professional have received a lot of attention, with careful investment and attractive prize structures. In particular, the huge prizes from PC game competitions are one of the levers for the development of eSports. The most popular eSports games today all have large tournaments with average prize money from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of USD per tournament, such as CSGO, PUBG, Valorant or LMHT.

2023 is an exciting year for both world eSports and Vietnamese eSports when tournaments are held throughout the year, typically VCS 2023 and the 2023 World Finals of League of Legends, a series of tournaments from domestic to international levels of Lien Quan Mobile, or PMGC and PMNC of the national game PUBG Mobile. 2023 is also the year of Battle Teams 2 - Truy Kích PC, an FPS game that has just been launched in the Vietnamese market in the middle of the year, but the publisher has had 3 eSports tournaments: Showmatch Campus, Campus Championship 2023 and VPL Cyber Battle 2023.

Entering 2024, Battle Teams 2 continues to organize an international tournament called BT2 Open Cup 2024. The tournament will include 16 competing teams, including 8 representatives from Vietnam, 4 representatives from China and 4 representatives from Southeast Asian countries (SEA). Currently, 4 Vietnamese teams have been announced to participate in the group stage, which are the 4 leading teams in the VPL Cyber Battle 2023 tournament including Spartacus Chim Se Di Nang, Team Joy (Vikings Gaming), The Light Arena and OEG Stadium. The remaining 4 teams will be selected through the Playoffs round taking place from March 1, 2024 to March 10, 2024.

The total prize pool of 8,000 USD (equivalent to 200,000,000 VND) with 16 teams and this competition format will be a good opportunity for FPS players to have more chances to hunt for prizes in a new playground. It is known that this is just the opening tournament for the eSports tournament roadmap throughout 2024 of Battle Teams 2 - Truy Kích PC.
