Many Grandmasters compete at the 2025 National Excellent Chess Championship

The 2025 National Excellent Chess Championship brings together nearly 250 players from 25 units across the country, including many Grandmasters and young talents, promising to bring exciting and dramatic competitions.

On August 23, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the Vietnam Chess Federation to organize the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Excellent Chess Championship.

This is the tournament with the highest level of expertise in the national competition system, gathering nearly 250 top athletes from 25 units.

In particular, the tournament witnessed the participation of leading Vietnamese Grandmasters such as: Le Tuan Minh, Tran Tuan Minh, Dao Thien Hai, Nguyen Duc Hoa, Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung...

Along with that, the tournament has the participation of a generation of young talents who are growing strongly such as Bang Gia Huy, Nguyen Quoc Hy, Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Dinh Nho Kiet, Tran Ngoc Minh Duy, Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong, Nguyen Hong Nhung, Nguyen Ha Khanh Linh...

The 2025 National Chess Championship has 14 sets of individual chess medals, ASEAN chess, Maruk chess, for men and women. The total sponsorship value for the tournament is up to more than 300 million VND.

The tournament is expected to close on September 1.
