Musician Le Anh Tu (Ho Chi Minh City Music Association) informed Tuoi Tre Online : musician Vinh Lai, born in 1942, active in branch 6, passed away on February 19 due to a stroke.
The late musician's wife passed away a long time ago and he had no children, so his family brought her back to bury her at their home in Can Giuoc district, Long An province on February 20.
According to the Vietnam Musicians Association, musician Vinh Lai's real name is Vo Thanh Khoi, born in 1942, and used to work at Ho Chi Minh City Television Station.
In 2012 he was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts.
Musician Vinh Lai has many popular songs known to many people such as: Faith, Shadow of the Tree of Grace, Returning to the Source, This Place I Love, Ben Cang Chieu Ve!, Saigon Love Song, Let's Go Home, Song to Americans...
In addition, he also wrote many choral works, film music, stage music...
The Eastern Symphony by the late musician Vinh Lai was awarded an award by the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association in 2016.
