Special Opening Day: Excited and Expected at the Beginning of a New Era of Growth

Full of expectations

The opening day of the 2025-2026 school year took place in a special atmosphere, marking 80 years of tradition in the education sector and the beginning of the "era of growth".

For many teachers and students, this is not only the first day of school but also an opportunity to affirm their determination to accompany the innovation process.

Mr. Nguyen Ngo Tan Dat, homeroom teacher of grade 10 English major, Nguyen Quang Dieu High School for the Gifted (My Tra ward, Dong Thap province), felt excited and happy when he received his assignment at the school, after graduating as valedictorian of the English Pedagogy major, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

"I am excited but also happy and hopeful to be able to apply the knowledge I have learned, nurturing educational plans for a generation of enthusiastic students, determined to train to become the best version of themselves," Mr. Dat shared.

From a student's perspective, Pham Huynh Kim Ty (English 1 class, course 17, Nguyen Quang Dieu High School for the Gifted) was both excited and worried during the first opening ceremony of high school.

"I realize that September 5, 2025 is also the first opening day of the education sector in the new era, associated with the great responsibility of the young generation towards the country. That is the innovation in the way of organizing education and building a new education system, with the important task of promoting the responsibility and role of the young generation towards the country. Therefore, as a student still in school, trying and striving to study is an important key to help me open the door to many opportunities for self-development. At the same time, I wish to fulfill my mission as the future buds of the country, worthy of the title of Uncle Ho's Good Children", Kim Ty shared.

For young teacher Nguyen Ngoc Tuong Vy (Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School, Phuoc Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), a teacher who has just graduated from university, the new school year coming in the atmosphere of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Education sector further motivates her.

"I feel like I have been fueled by a sacred fire and joined the source of many generations of dedicated teachers. On the journey of a soul engineer, I hope that each seed of knowledge sown today will blossom into the dreams and beliefs of you, my children, tomorrow," Ms. Vy shared.

Innovative school, accompanying students

Joining the atmosphere of the whole country welcoming the new school year 2025 - 2026, Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School has completed the final preparations to be ready for the opening day.

Mr. Tran Quan, the school's principal, said that this year's opening ceremony was carefully planned in terms of both content and backup plans, in order to bring students a complete and safe festival.

In terms of facilities, the entire classroom is equipped with a television, the main stage has a large LED screen, a sound system and an online transmission line to ensure smooth transmission.

In particular, this school year, the school cooperated with the AIG Center to put into use STEM and CDS classrooms, creating conditions for students to have early access to modern educational models. "This is an important preparation step for students to have a creative learning environment and develop comprehensive capacity," Mr. Quan shared.

In addition to investing in facilities, the school also focuses on the safety and readiness of students on the opening day. Due to the lack of trees to provide shade, the school has arranged umbrellas and built a flexible scenario: 50% of students attend the ceremony in person in the school yard, the remaining 50% attend online in class.

In case of adverse weather, all students and guests will be moved to classrooms or council rooms to watch online, ensuring the program is not interrupted.

In parallel, the work of checking uniforms, books and school supplies is carried out thoroughly during the familiarization week. New and old homeroom teachers coordinate to grasp the circumstances and needs of each student, from which the school has timely support measures. Students with difficult circumstances and ethnic minority students are provided with full textbooks, uniforms and school supplies.

The highlight of Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School is maintaining many humanitarian activities. The program “No disadvantaged student is left without conditions to go to school” has supported school bags, uniforms, health insurance and meals for students in special circumstances.

Currently, the school is cooperating with benefactors to provide long-term sponsorship for two disadvantaged students until the end of primary school. In addition, the “My Closet” model continues to be maintained with the goal of both supporting students and helping them borrow temporary supplies when they forget their books and school supplies, ensuring that no student misses a class.

"With comprehensive preparation in both facilities and spirit, Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School is confident that it will bring teachers and students a favorable start, spreading a joyful and eager atmosphere to enter the new school year," emphasized Mr. Quan.
