Xuong giao duyen is a song between men and women. This is a lyrical, unique and typical folk song genre in the folk song system of the Muong people, preserved and promoted from generation to generation. The unique feature of the xuong giao duyen melody is that the lyrics are improvised on the spot, not following a pre-existing pattern but creatively and harmoniously. The content of the xuong giao duyen melodies praises the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and the beautiful scenery of the homeland and country; praises those who have contributed to the country; praises love and loyalty, thoughts, and feelings of couples... With its unique values, in 2017, the xuong giao duyen in Minh Son and Thach Lap communes was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

To preserve and promote the value of the love opera, every year Minh Son commune always pays attention to building and implementing a plan to preserve and promote the national cultural identity in general and the love opera in particular. Growing up in the "cradle" of the xuong giao duyen tune, Meritorious Artist Le Thi Huong, Minh Nguyen village, Minh Son commune, had a "fate" with xuong giao duyen since she was very young. She said: "Since I was little, I listened to and sang along with my grandmothers and sisters, and then fell in love with xuong singing without realizing it. The development of current art forms has made a part of young people not interested in folk songs, including xuong giao duyen. Realizing my responsibility in preserving and promoting the Muong cultural identity, in recent times, I have actively promoted and mobilized people in the village and commune to participate in learning to sing xuong giao duyen. Through singing lessons, they understand the meaning of preserving the xuong giao duyen tune and take practical actions to preserve the traditional cultural values ​​of their ancestors. Currently, whenever the village and commune have cultural and artistic activities, many people in the village enthusiastically participate in practicing xuong giao duyen singing to perform."
