The workshop "Evaluating the results of innovation and development of mining technology in the period 2020-2025, development orientation for the period 2026-2030 and the following years" is an important preparation step for TKV to enter a new development stage.
At the workshop "Evaluating the results of innovation and development of mining technology in the period of 2020-2025, development orientation for the period of 2026-2030 and the following years", Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) emphasized that science and technology are the key driving force to improve productivity, ensure safety, reduce production costs and increase sustainability in coal mining and processing.
In the context of increasing demands for environmental protection, digital transformation and sustainable development trends, it is necessary to evaluate the results of science and technology implementation in the past time and orient for the coming time in the Group.
Over the past 5 years, TKV has achieved many outstanding results in the application of science and technology: Completing the consolidation of large open-pit mines; expanding mechanization in mining and tunneling with 13 synchronized mechanized lines; increasing the application of modern screening technology and automation in the factory; investing in remote monitoring systems, smart operations, etc. The rate of coal mined by mechanization in the mine has reached about 14% of total output, the rate of transportation by conveyor belt has also increased significantly.

Oriented to the period 2026-2030 and vision to 2050, TKV continues to promote research and application of modern technologies, such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital mine model (Digital Twin), electronic sensors... and strengthen links with research institutes and universities at home and abroad.
The Group aims to gradually modernize all aspects of underground and open-pit mining, coal screening and processing; aiming for smart, low-manpower, safe, low-emission and highly efficient mines.
Deputy General Director of the Group Nguyen Van Tuan said that TKV will focus on 5 key groups of solutions: Developing technology suitable for geological conditions; improving the quality of technical human resources; strengthening cooperation with institutes, schools, and experts at home and abroad; promoting comprehensive digital transformation and perfecting mechanisms and policies to encourage internal innovation; closely following strategic orientations, in which priority is given to building a roadmap to modernize mines in the direction of "smart mines, few people, safe, environmentally friendly, highly efficient".
