Currently, the Ha Tinh Center for Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation is receiving 8 centralized water supply projects invested by localities and assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to manage, operate and exploit.

In recent years, the projects have generally operated stably, with water quality meeting standards. However, in reality, many difficulties have been revealed. Many items were built a long time ago and have deteriorated, leading to water leakage and loss. In addition, the management and operation model is not completely financially autonomous, and is largely dependent on the state budget, which sometimes makes it difficult to maintain and promote the functions of the projects.
In this situation, the unit has proactively taken advantage of funding sources from the Central and the province to repair, upgrade and expand many projects. At the same time, it has strengthened inspection and review of the pipeline network, promptly handled damage and reduced water loss. Maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment are also focused on to prolong the life of the project and ensure sustainable operation.
Thanks to that, the water supply system is increasingly operating smoothly, limiting incidents and ensuring stable supply to households.

Bac Thach Ha Water Plant (Dong Kinh Commune) is currently supplying water to more than 6,700 households in 4 communes: Viet Xuyen Commune, Dong Kinh Commune, 4 villages in Thach Ha Commune, 2 villages in Xuan Loc Commune. The plant's capacity reaches 3,000m3 /day and night.
Mr. Luong Huu Hai - Head of the water supply team of Bac Thach Ha Water Plant said: “The plant regularly performs periodic maintenance of important items such as pumps, filter tanks, and pipeline systems. Equipment is checked weekly, cleaned, and components are replaced promptly when there are signs of damage. In addition, we also coordinate with specialized units to calibrate machinery and upgrade treatment technology to improve water filtration efficiency. Thanks to that, the project not only meets the needs of domestic water supply for people but also minimizes incidents during operation.”
Not only focusing on infrastructure, the Center also coordinates with local authorities to promote and raise people's awareness of clean water use. Since the beginning of 2025, 9 training sessions have been organized (in 9 communes - before the operation of 2-level government) with the participation of more than 1,000 people, focusing on clean water criteria in advanced new rural construction.

For the people, the use of clean water not only improves the quality of life but also creates changes in living habits, gradually replacing the use of traditional well water. This is also a testament to the effectiveness of the propaganda and mobilization work that the water plant has implemented in recent times.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung (Viet Xuyen commune) said: “Thanks to the propaganda and specific instructions from the water plant, people have clearly understood the benefits of using clean water for health and life. Previously, some households were still hesitant about the cost or were not familiar with using tap water, but now almost everyone trusts and feels secure in using it.”
Along with training, the Center also coordinated with press agencies to promote propaganda about the benefits of clean water and rural environmental sanitation. More than 44,200 leaflets and instruction documents were printed and widely distributed, helping people understand and join hands to protect water supply works.

According to Mr. Ho Dinh Hoai - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation Center, the unit's goal is not only to ensure safe water sources, but also to aim for long-term sustainability.
“In the coming time, we will continue to focus on water quality inspection and control. At the same time, we will promote maintenance and repair, reduce water loss to improve operational efficiency. At the same time, the Center will maintain and expand training courses, coordinate with local authorities and organizations to help people improve their knowledge about clean water, environmental sanitation and how to use and protect the water supply system. When people clearly understand the benefits and join hands to preserve the project, the quality of service will become increasingly stable, better meeting the needs of daily life and production and contributing to building a sustainable new countryside.”
