'Golden season of Mu Cang Chai' brilliantly welcomes visitors

The exciting "Fast Rice Harvesting" contest in Mu Cang Chai has restarted.

Talking to Dai Doan Ket on the afternoon of September 27, Ms. Luong Thi Xuyen - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai district, said that the Terraced Fields Scenic Area had promptly overcome the effects of storms and floods, and has now begun to reopen its annual activities following the Independence Day to serve visitors. Dining, sleeping, accommodation, and sightseeing establishments are ready to welcome and serve visitors. The Hawthorn (Cat Apple) Festival will be postponed to 2025.

According to the Department of Culture and Information of Mu Cang Chai district, the "Fast rice harvesting, good plowing, beautiful embankment building contest" will be held on October 5-6 in Che Cu Nha commune with 14 competing teams, promising exciting and thrilling races. The new rice celebration of the Mong people (5th time) following on October 12 in La Pan Tan commune has also completed preparations. This is an opportunity to attract a large number of tourists to enjoy and experience the cultural identity of the mountainous region of Mu Cang Chai for many years.

Secretary of Mu Cang Chai District Party Committee, Mr. Nong Viet Yen, said that local tourism revenue from the beginning of the year to date has reached 270,000 billion VND with 275,000 visitors. After the storm Yagi, tens of thousands of visitors canceled their tours and rooms, but it is hoped that Mu Cang Chai will soon recover its tourism economy thanks to remote preparation and effective leadership and direction. Currently, the scenic areas of Mam Xoi hill, Mong Ngua rice hammock, Che Cu Nha terraced fields, Mo De... are in the beautiful golden ripening season and the weather is cool and pleasant. It is known that many attractive activities such as the art photo exhibition "Colors of Mu Cang Chai", weekend mass art performances (especially Mong flute), De Xu Phinh goat fighting competition, Khau Pha paragliding festival, beeswax pattern painting, "Marathon Mucangchai Ultra Trail" race with the participation of nearly 2,000 athletes will also take place in October 2024.
