The Swiss Federal Council announced on December 4 that Air Force Commander Major General Peter Merz visited Ramstein base in Germany to discuss cooperation related to the F-35 fighter jet model, along with many generals from European countries.

The trip aims to exchange experiences in the process of exploiting modern American fighter models.

Last September, the European country reached an agreement with the US to purchase 36 F-35A models, with expected delivery dates between 2027 and 2030.

In a recent article, 19FortyFive stated that the F-35 is the “best fighter in the world ”.

The F-35 is designed to do things no single plane can do. It is being developed to replace the US Air Force's A-10 attack aircraft and F-16 fighter jets, the Navy's F/A-18 fighter jets and the Marine Corps' AV-8B Harrier.

The F-35 fighter is a single-engine, single-seat aircraft. Its unique feature is that different versions will be designed to serve different purposes.

For example, the F-35A version is capable of conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL), intended for traditional air bases, while the F-35C is the Navy's carrier-based version.

The F-35B of the US Marine Corps, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy can operate as a short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) fighter.

The F-35 is currently the "backbone" of the air forces of many US allies such as the UK, Australia, Italy, Japan, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway and South Korea.

In addition, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Poland, Thailand... have also ordered or expressed interest in this fighter.
