Thanh Hoa Armed Forces receive First Class Fatherland Protection Medal

On August 24, 1945, the Dinh Cong Trang Squadron, the predecessor of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Armed Forces, was established. With a strength of 1,500 comrades, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Forces protected the achievements of the revolution, the young government, accompanied the nation in eliminating hunger and illiteracy, and advised and led the people in fighting against foreign invaders.

During the two long resistance wars against the French colonialists and the invading American imperialists, the Thanh Hoa armed forces continuously developed in terms of forces, weapons, equipment, and combat experience; directly fought, fulfilled the role of a great rear base, provided human and material support to the battlefield, contributed to the completion of the cause of national liberation, national reunification, continued to firmly protect sovereignty, territorial integrity, and carry out international missions.

During the renovation period, Thanh Hoa armed forces have always excellently fulfilled national defense tasks and local military work; built defense zones, built an all-people national defense posture associated with a people's security posture, an increasingly solid all-people border defense posture, combined socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security.

The armed forces regularly coordinate with the provincial police and other forces to grasp the situation, promptly resolve arising issues, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety. Notably, they have clearly demonstrated their role as the core and main force on the front line of disease prevention and natural disaster prevention, contributing to protecting people's lives, property, and stabilizing their lives.

In recognition of outstanding achievements in training, combat readiness, army building, national defense consolidation, and national defense, the Party and State awarded the First Class Fatherland Protection Medal to the armed forces of Thanh Hoa province.

Reviewing the 80-year tradition of being born from the people, serving and fighting for the people; representatives of generations of Thanh Hoa armed forces vow to preserve and promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers"; always be close to the people, understand the people, respect the people; well perform the task of building and protecting the Party, government, socialist regime, protecting the people and the great national unity bloc.
