On August 23, 1945, the Lam Dong Provincial Armed Forces were born, marking an important milestone in the local revolutionary movement.

Looking back on the 80-year journey of building, fighting and growing, under the direct leadership of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee - Military Region 7 Command, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the love and protection of the people of all ethnic groups in the province, the Lam Dong Provincial Armed Forces have continuously grown in all aspects.

Generations of cadres and soldiers of the provincial armed forces are always united and absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; promote revolutionary heroism, fight, be brave and resilient, overcome countless hardships and sacrifices, excellently complete all tasks, and contribute greatly to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

At all times, the provincial military is always proactive, grasps the situation, promptly advises the Party committees and authorities at all levels to direct the handling and effective resolution of situations, avoiding being passive or surprised. Party building and force building are always given attention; all aspects of logistics and technical work are regularly ensured, promptly meeting all task requirements, building an increasingly strong national defense, directly contributing with the Party committees and people of the province to successfully carry out the task of socio-economic development, consolidating and maintaining national defense and security in the new situation.

Recognizing the outstanding results, typical achievements and tireless efforts of the officers and soldiers of Lam Dong province's armed forces over the past time, General Phan Van Giang, member of the Politburo and Minister of National Defense, sent a letter of commendation to Lam Dong province's armed forces.

Lam Dong province was established on the basis of merging 3 provinces: Dak Nong, Binh Thuan, Lam Dong (old). The arrangement, streamlining of the organizational apparatus and merging of administrative units is not just a simple administrative activity, but a strategic step, with great significance in terms of politics, organization and practice. When operating, it will help exploit potential effectively; open up a space for economic linkage, multi-center, comprehensive, harmonious, faster and more sustainable development.

With the motto "Promoting the spirit of innovation, discipline, responsibility, setting an example, daring to think, daring to do, turning challenges into opportunities, successfully implementing the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels"; thoroughly grasping the Party's viewpoints and policies in the Resolutions of the 8th Central Committee, 11th and 13th tenures on the Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the provincial armed forces to constantly build a firm political stance, steadfast in all situations; raise revolutionary vigilance; raise the sense of responsibility, truly be an exemplary nucleus, actively participate in building forces, building a strong national defense right at the grassroots level.
