Series of Ukrainian cities attacked by missiles and UAVs

Ukraine detected and intercepted all Russian UAVs targeting the central and southern regions, but let the cruise missiles that attacked Dnipro province escape.

"Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers launched four Kh-101/555 cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea into Ukraine early this morning. One was intercepted, the rest hit industrial targets in the central Dnipro province," the Ukrainian Air Force Command said in a statement today.

Oleksandr Vilkul, mayor of the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipro province, said two industrial facilities “not linked to the military” were hit by missiles, injuring one person. “The extent of the destruction is significant,” he said.

The Ukrainian military also announced that it had shot down all 20 Shahed-type suicide drones deployed by Russia to attack areas in central and southern Ukraine. 18 of these UAVs targeted the port city of Odessa in southern Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry has not commented on the information.

Russia is conducting continuous raids to prevent Ukraine's counter-offensive, as well as to deplete the enemy's anti-aircraft ammunition, as they have to constantly fire expensive shells to deal with cheap missiles and UAVs.

Deputy Director of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Directorate Vadym Skibitsky said last month that Russia was focusing on attacking strongholds and ammunition depots to disrupt the counterattack, instead of trying to destroy energy infrastructure as before.
