Revealing 18 excellent students in the final round of the Northern Math Thinking Competition

(Dan Tri) - Surpassing many talented competitors, 18 excellent candidates have just won prizes in the Northern final round of season 9 of the Math Thinking Talent Search 2024.


On November 3, the final round of the Mathnasium Championship 2024 in the North took place in Hanoi , with the participation of 186 contestants.

After intense competitions, the 18 best contestants of the 6 groups were honored to win First, Second and Third prizes.

The first prize includes a scholarship, gift and certificate of merit from the program with a total value of 25 million VND.

This is an annual math thinking competition for students aged 6-11 nationwide.

This year's contest attracted the participation of nearly 46,000 contestants from primary and secondary schools across the country, recording a significant increase in the number of contestants registered compared to previous seasons.

Instead of focusing on testing pure knowledge or giving difficult problems, the competition focuses on applying logical thinking, calculation skills, and the ability to apply learned knowledge to solve problems within a certain period of time.

In particular, the contest also conveys the message that each contestant is a different talent and the final destination is not the highest position or award, but the journey to conquer knowledge, overcome all challenges so that they become more confident, brave and perfect.

Mr. John Bianchette, Vice President of Professional Affairs of the global Mathnasium system, Chairman of the Professional Council of the competition, shared: "Developing mathematical abilities and thinking skills for students is a valuable investment for the future, not only for themselves but also for society.

In particular, thinking is a skill that is formed and developed effectively when children learn math. Understanding mathematical concepts and knowledge combined with thinking is an effective tool to help children solve all problems in learning and life."

Starting from August 27, with 6 competition boards for students in grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The competition goes through 3 rounds: Preliminary, Semi-final and Final.

In the Preliminary round taking place from September 24 to October 8, the organizing committee selected 3,667 candidates with the highest results to enter the Semi-finals.

The Semi-finals took place on October 19-20, with 475 contestants continuing to the Finals.

The Final Round and Award Ceremony are divided into 2 regions: the North is held in Hanoi and the South is held in Ho Chi Minh City.
