Carry out procedures for issuing and changing citizen identification cards at the police stations of communes and wards. |
On June 16, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man signed and issued Resolution No. 1675/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Hue City in 2025.
After the arrangement, Hue City has 40 commune-level administrative units, including 21 wards and 19 communes; of which 20 wards and 19 communes were formed after the arrangement and 1 ward did not undergo the arrangement, Duong No ward.
Before this change, citizen identification cards/identification cards that were issued before the administrative unit arrangement, if not expired as printed on the card, can continue to be used without having to be reissued according to regulations.
Citizens do not need to carry out procedures to adjust residence information when there is an adjustment or merger of administrative boundaries.
The residence management agency (commune-level police) is responsible for updating and adjusting information on citizens' residence in the National Population Database and the Residence Database when resolutions and decisions of competent authorities are issued and come into effect according to the provisions of Point c, Clause 3, Article 26 of the 2020 Law on Residence and Clause 1, Article 10 of the 2023 Law on Identification.
In addition, the utility and value of electronic identification are also demonstrated through the electronic identification account stipulated in Article 33 of the 2023 Law on Identification.
