Chu Van An High School for the Gifted (No. 10 Thuy Khue Street) is one of the oldest schools in the country, established in 1908. The school has been recognized as a national historical relic according to Decision No. 76/2004/QD-BVHTT dated August 23, 2004 of the Ministry of Culture - Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ).
During more than 100 years of existence and development, the school still retains its ancient beauty, green space and typical French architecture, becoming a cultural and educational symbol in the heart of the capital.
Along with tradition, the school is also known for its high-quality educational environment, training many generations of excellent students. Since 1995, the school has been ranked as a National Key High School (according to Decision No. 89/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister); by 2019, it officially became a member of the Cambridge International system - the first public school in Vietnam to be recognized as an international standard of this system. Since January 2025, the school has been reorganized into Chu Van An High School for the Gifted under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, creating conditions for the development of a specialized education model and international integration.
