Nguyen Thi Be Thi (21 years old, from Can Tho ) used to do silk printing, sell clothes and all sorts of small things. When her child was 5 months old, Thi switched to hourly house cleaning through an app.

Flexible

The development of applications specializing in household utilities is very useful for people like Thi. With just a few simple steps, the needy party and the domestic worker can easily connect with each other. To work on the application, domestic workers must undergo basic training courses on both technical skills and soft skills such as communication, risk prevention, etc. This not only contributes to ensuring service quality but also protects the safety and rights of domestic workers. Thi realizes that cleaning, laundry, cooking, babysitting, etc. cannot be done solely by instinct or habit. Everything must be done according to the correct procedure and positive feedback from customers is her joy. Every morning, after taking her child to the nursery, Thi starts her first shift and ends around 5 p.m.

Nguyen Ha Hong Phuong believes that hourly housekeeping is a legitimate job, suitable for the needs of many people in modern society.

If there is someone to look after the children, she is willing to work extra hours in the evening. Each cleaning shift lasts 2 hours, sometimes up to 4 hours for large apartments. From a shy girl, Thi has confidently talked to customers. Thi always refuses homeowners who want her to help without using the app, because accepting orders through the system ensures rights and prestige. The money she earns is enough for her to cover living expenses and take care of her children. Overcoming the prejudice that housekeepers are usually older people with few options for making a living, Thi believes that young people can still do this job well. "Choosing a job that suits your circumstances and doing it well is also valuable. This job also gives Gen Z the opportunity to learn and advance" - Thi confided.

Practice skills, improve life

Nguyen Ha Hong Phuong (27 years old, from Nha Trang) is a "warrior bee" on the bTaskee application with thousands of orders per month and has achieved the title of "Professional Home Assistant".

Instead of trying to find an office job or apply for a factory job after being unemployed, Phuong chose to work as an hourly cleaner in Ho Chi Minh City for 2 years after the COVID-19 pandemic. When she returned to her hometown, she continued to work at this job. Phuong can do well many tasks from cleaning, shopping, cooking, taking care of the elderly and general cleaning.

Lieu Kim Chau is always conscious of maintaining her demeanor, following the orientation and training procedures when working as an hourly maid.

Nha Trang attracts a lot of tourists, more than 40% of Phuong's customers are foreigners. Thanks to that, she has the opportunity to practice her English and the ability to grasp customer psychology. During peak months with many tourists or holidays, Phuong can earn double her income compared to normal times. Not only does she help her family's financial burden, she also has the opportunity to learn a driver's license and equip herself with new skills from this job. In the beginning, Phuong was still confused because she did not know how to clean scientifically , even being late. But then, she gradually overcame her shortcomings to discipline herself better, control her spending, and be responsible for every little thing.

Lieu Kim Chau (living in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City) has stabilized her life thanks to working as a maid. Every step from receiving work, contacting customers, and providing quality feedback is done through the application. The transparency and professionalism make her feel secure when working. Chau's income ranges from 10-13 million VND/month, sometimes 16-20 million VND during Tet. Most of Chau's customers are young, proficient in technology, proactive in making appointments in advance and have a comfortable and clear way of communicating. With elderly or difficult customers, Chau always knows how to communicate appropriately, cleans properly and always keeps the tools clean. "Some customers talk and follow along to observe the entire process, so you need to concentrate. The more professional and honest you are, the more satisfied they are" - Chau shared. There are many young people around Chau, including students, who work as hourly maids. Not just service providers, they want to affirm the bright spot of the profession with integrity, professionalism and the desire to improve life.
