Khanh Thi and the dream of Vietnamese Dancesport reaching the top of the continent

VHO - From July 9 to 13, at Military Zone 7 Stadium (HCMC), the Vietnam Dancesport Festival 2025 International Dance Sports Tournament will officially take place.

Vietnamese athletes are ready for the big tournament.

This is not only a playground that gathers the top talents of regional and continental dancesport, but also an unprecedented milestone in the history of Vietnamese sports - the first time being granted the right to host 3 major tournaments at the same time: Southeast Asian Championship, Asian Championship, and Asian Championship for Women's Solo.

More than 36 countries and territories , more than 3,000 athletes participated in the tournament.

This international event is organized with the permission of the Department of Sports and Physical Training, by the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation in coordination with Khanh Thi - KTA King The Art.

According to the announcement from the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF), this is also the first time that the Women's Solo event has been included in the official competition system - a step that demonstrates the pioneering nature and rapid development of dancesport in the region.

Not stopping there, the tournament also marked the birth of an annual ranking system in the Southeast Asian region - something unprecedented when regional athletes could only compete for rankings through the SEA Games every two years.

Vietnam Dancesport Festival 2025 is considered the largest tournament in the history of this sport in Southeast Asia. Up to now, more than 36 countries and territories have confirmed their participation, with more than 3,000 athletes, over 4,000 registrations and more than 100 international and national referees.

The fact that Vietnam was chosen to host such a large-scale event shows the great trust from the International Federation as well as the high appreciation of the organizational capacity, prestige and increasingly solid position of Vietnamese dancesport on the world sports map.

Professionalize the team

Khanh Thi - Phan Hien couple is passionate about organizing the tournament to contribute to raising the level of Vietnamese Dancesport in the international arena.

Despite being the host country, to realize the dream of winning medals and improving national achievements, Vietnamese coaches and athletes still have to fully socialize training and competition costs.

Coach Khanh Thi - founder of KTA King The Art - has used her own money to lead the team including athlete pairs Phan Hien - Thu Huong, Ngoc An - To Uyen to train and participate in international tournaments in the WDSF system in Dalian (China), Malaysia, Denmark and Germany from the beginning of 2025 to accumulate global ranking points.

In the Standard category, Coach Chi Anh led the team including Trung Thuc - Ngoc Anh, Minh Xuan, Gia Linh to China for intensive training, aiming to achieve high rankings right at home.

Sharing about this journey, Coach Khanh Thi could not hide her emotions: “I did not organize the tournament for fame or profit. I organized it because Vietnamese Dancesport needs a real boost – professional, methodical and capable of international integration.”

Vietnam Dancesport Festival 2025 is a testament to the dedication and tireless efforts of domestic sports people. Although it is an international tournament, most of the organization costs are covered by Coach Khanh Thi and her colleagues, along with small support from some benefactors.

Not only is it a competition arena, the tournament is also an opportunity to strongly inspire the younger generation, arousing their passion and aspiration to excel in artistic sports. “We want to organize an event of international standards, where every contestant, when stepping onto the stage, can feel the pride of a Vietnamese athlete who can compete on par with the world,” said Khanh Thi.

By hosting this historic tournament, Vietnam not only affirms its professional organizing capacity, but also shows its aspiration to become the Dancesport center of Southeast Asia in the near future.

Vietnam Dancesport Festival 2025 is a "declaration in action" that Vietnam is ready to enter the big playground, not only with individual talent but also with systematic, strategic and national investment.

Closing with an unprecedented mark on the world dancesport map, the tournament will be a launching pad to take Vietnamese Dancesport further - from personal aspirations to the common pride of an entire nation.
