(LĐ online) - On the afternoon of June 12, in Ha Lam commune, Da Huoai district, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, the Executive Board of Project 938 of Lam Dong province organized the opening ceremony of the Film Week with the theme Women Rising Up with the Nation to promote, educate, mobilize and support women to participate in solving a number of social issues related to women.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Film Week were Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc - Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, representatives of departments, boards and unions of Da Huoai district, leaders of Ha Lam commune, along with many union members, youth, and generations of women in the commune.

Ms. Vu Thi Le Huyen - Director of Lam Dong Film Distribution and Screening Center delivered the opening speech.

Speaking at the opening of the Film Week, Ms. Vu Thi Le Huyen - Director of Lam Dong Film Distribution and Screening Center emphasized: Women are not only the ones who keep the flame of love in the family, but also an important force in economic development, community building and actively participating in solving social issues such as: gender violence, gender inequality, poverty, child marriage, education, health care...

Film Week is a meaningful humanitarian activity aimed at raising public awareness of the role, status and contributions of women in the family and society. Mobilizing, supporting and encouraging women to boldly participate in the process of solving current social issues.

Leaders of Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented flowers to event organizers.

Film Week is a practical activity aiming at gender equality and enhancing the role of women in social life. The reportage, documentary and propaganda films in the Film Week truly and deeply reflect the challenges and aspirations of Vietnamese women in the integration period, along with the era of national development.

Ethnic minority women participate in a propaganda session after the opening ceremony of Film Week.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, there was an exchange session and a screening of a propaganda report on domestic violence prevention and gender equality; followed by propaganda sessions and screenings of reportage and documentaries taking place in remote communes of Da Huoai district.

Through the stories and images conveyed on screen, the community will have more understanding, empathy and work together for a fair and civilized society where no one is left behind - especially women and girls.
