Opening of the thematic exhibition "Quang Ngai Tourism - Attraction from Heritage and Identity"

VHO – On the afternoon of April 12, at the Hoang Sa Team Exhibition House, which is also in charge of Bac Hai (Ly Son), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province held the Opening Ceremony of the thematic exhibition “Quang Ngai Tourism - The Attraction of Heritage and Identity”. This is one of the activities within the framework of Quang Ngai Tourism Week.

The thematic exhibition “Quang Ngai Tourism - The attraction of heritage and identity” focuses on introducing two main contents: “Heritage - Identity of Quang Ngai” and “Hoang Sa archipelago belongs to Vietnam territory”.

The exhibition introduces more than 300 documents and images of famous landscapes and typical tangible and intangible cultural heritages, reflecting the cultural identity of Quang Ngai; along with a system of historical and legal documents affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Van Thanh said that this event aims to systematically, scientifically and visually introduce the system of cultural and natural heritages imbued with local identity, important resources that contribute to creating the province's tourism attraction.

In particular, the exhibition is even more meaningful when introducing a system of historical and legal documents, affirming Vietnam's sacred sovereignty over the Hoang Sa archipelago, right on the occasion of the community on Ly Son island district organizing the Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony.

Quang Ngai currently possesses a rich treasure of cultural heritage, demonstrated through a system of 33 national relics, 2 special national relics, 176 provincial relics, and 10 national intangible cultural heritages.

Quang Ngai is one of 9 provinces with the Central Vietnam Art Heritage of Bài Chòi recognized by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Quang Ngai also has a strong cultural identity of the sea and islands, the most obvious manifestation of which is Ly Son island district - where geology, culture and history blend together, displaying unique and diverse natural landscapes and a system of valuable cultural heritages, vividly reflecting the continuity of many cultures, from ancient to contemporary.

Ly Son island district is the birthplace of Hoang Sa Team, which manages Bac Hai, where the Hoang Sa Soldiers' Commemoration Ceremony takes place - a national intangible cultural heritage, a vivid testament to the patriotism, indomitable will and noble sacrifice of Quang Ngai people in the journey to protect the sacred sovereignty of the nation's sea and islands.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Hoang Sa Exhibition House (Da Nang City) for their active contributions in organizing the exhibition of valuable documents on the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands.

Hoang Sa Exhibition House of Da Nang City donated a set of documents on sea and island sovereignty to Quang Ngai Provincial Museum.
