According to GSMArena , Jeff Pu believes that the entire iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, will be equipped with the A18 chip. That's a far cry from this year's lineup, when the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus only came with the A16 Bionic chip, while the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max were both equipped with the A17 Pro chip.
Will Apple's "A18" be the chip that powers all iPhone models next year?
Many people might think that Apple will stop making the chip one of the reasons to attract customers to buy the Pro line, but that's not the case. Although all four models will use the A18 chip next year, it seems that it will not be the same, as the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are said to come with the A18 Bionic chip, while the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have the more powerful A18 Pro chip.
Essentially, Apple chose to rebrand its chip lines to make it feel like the regular iPhones have the same hardware as the Pro variants.
It's unclear what the differences between the A18 and A17 Pro will be, but it appears that the A18 will be manufactured by TSMC on its second-generation 3nm process (N3E), which is cheaper and has better yields than the N3B used by TSMC to manufacture the A17 Pro.
