Thus, since the beginning of the year, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 26 adjustment sessions, including 9 decreases, 11 increases and 6 periods of mixed fuel prices.
From July 1, the value added tax (VAT) on gasoline will decrease by 2%, from 10% to 8%, according to the Resolution of the National Assembly . That is, from 0:00 on July 1, gasoline prices will decrease accordingly, by 100-130 VND per liter for E5 RON 92 and RON 95-III gasoline. Similarly, oil products (except mazut) will decrease by an additional 140-200 VND per liter.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the world oil market in the past 7 days has been affected by many factors such as the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East and Russia and Ukraine.
Geopolitical and economic fluctuations have caused world oil prices to fluctuate, up and down depending on the item. Each barrel of RON 95 gasoline increased by 1.4% on average, to 86.3 USD. Similarly, kerosene and diesel both increased by 2.9-3.2% per barrel. Fuel oil alone decreased by nearly 3% to 462.9 USD per ton.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that domestic gasoline prices in the first 6 months of the year remained lower than the same period last year and previous years. This contributed to reducing input costs for production and business, supporting the goal of controlling inflation.
This year, the total minimum supply allocated to key traders is more than 29.5 million m3, tons of various types of gasoline and oil. In the first half of the year, the supply that businesses prepared for the domestic market was about 13.86 million m3, tons, equal to 47% of the minimum supply allocated from the beginning of the year. However, the actual consumption was 12.6 million m3, tons, so the inventory was about 1.7-1.8 million m3, tons.
