Want to become a "war horse" not a "young rabbit" in the beauty arena

Congratulations to Ngoc Anh for winning the Miss Hanoi 2025 contest not long ago. Frankly speaking, your participation in a beauty contest for the second time after reaching the top 20 of Miss Vietnam is risky and will be subject to comparison pressure from public opinion. Why did you make this decision?

- I think comparison is a common mentality for many contestants who have participated in a major beauty contest, especially when continuing to try their hand at a smaller scale. The fear of being compared or failing is completely understandable.

However, I chose to put aside those pressures and enter the Miss Hanoi 2025 contest with the most relaxed and positive spirit. Only when I maintain my confidence and a stable mentality can I be myself, fully expressing what I have trained and accumulated over the past time.

Ngoc Anh had a quick chat with Dan Tri reporter before practice, preparing for the pickleball tournament "Dan Tri 20 years - Bright new day".

How is your return to the Miss Hanoi 2025 contest different from your previous participation in Miss Vietnam?

- The Miss Hanoi 2025 contest marks my return after 5 years since participating in Miss Vietnam 2020. During that time, I have continuously learned, trained and matured in both thinking and lifestyle.

In 2020, I was still a young, innocent girl, coming to the competition with the spirit of learning, rubbing shoulders and connecting with friends. But in this return, I had a clearer goal, more thorough preparation and especially great determination to conquer the top.

It is the maturity and change in thinking that has helped me have enough courage and confidence to achieve the highest position at Miss Hanoi 2025.

In the beauty pageant industry today, competition is increasingly fierce with more professional contests and contestants with clearer strategies. Have you ever encountered sensitive situations or “hidden” tricks behind the scenes? And how did you handle them?

- I have only participated in two major contests: Miss Vietnam and Miss Hanoi. In those contests, I felt that the contestants were very friendly, supportive and loving to each other. Besides, the contests were also organized very professionally, completely different from the dramatic or negative images that people often think of beauty contests.

I believe that nowadays the quality of the competitions has been increasingly improved, and the contestants are also more thoroughly prepared before entering the competition. If in the future I continue to participate in another beauty contest, I will spend time cultivating myself thoroughly to become a strong “war horse” in the arena, not a “young rabbit” entering the game.

So after the title of Miss Hanoi 2025, does Ngoc Anh plan to conquer a larger beauty pageant, or will she choose another direction?

- After winning the title of Miss Hanoi 2025, I consider this an important milestone and also a stepping stone to continue pursuing artistic activities in the future.

In 2025, I have no plans to participate in any other beauty pageants. Instead, I will focus on investing in self-development, improving my skills and knowledge, to prepare myself for greater opportunities in the future.

Ngoc Anh can share more specifically about your career orientation?

- Currently, I have a clear direction to pursue a career as a professional model and MC. I have signed up for MC classes to improve my communication and hosting skills. Besides, I also signed up to learn Chinese, because this is one of the second most popular languages ​​in the world .

I find learning Chinese a great opportunity when I have free time, helping to expand my career opportunities in the future. Up to now, I have been learning Chinese for nearly half a year and will continue to strive to achieve the HSK4 certificate, to improve my level and ability to use this language fluently.

Ngoc Anh said she is improving her skills and knowledge to prepare herself for greater opportunities in the future.

Once you have achieved the title, maintaining your image becomes important. Has Ngoc Anh ever felt that the crown is a pressure, making you feel constrained on the long journey?

- I myself do not put myself in a rigid mold. I still maintain my personal activities, still be myself in daily life. I believe that as long as I live true to my nature and values, people will feel and love the real me.

I do not aim to be a perfect role model in the eyes of the public, because I understand that no one is without shortcomings. The important thing is to recognize and learn from mistakes to become more mature and perfect.

For me, the crown is not a pressure, but a precious milestone that reminds me of my responsibilities and the journey of development ahead.

Ngoc Anh has known business since she was 18 years old. She also has a good income from modeling and is developing to become an MC.

If one day you no longer compete in beauty pageants, no longer receive titles or compliments, have you ever thought about that? And do you feel that fame is a must in your life?

- For me, being a public figure and receiving attention is a great fortune. However, I do not cling to it. I once had a period of 5 years without participating in any beauty contests and tried my hand at business.

During the time I focused on my business, I rarely updated my modeling photos on social media, and that led to a significant decrease in interest from the audience. I think this is completely normal, because when we no longer appear regularly on media platforms, attention will naturally decrease.

If in the coming years, I continue to pursue an artistic path, I will definitely always update the latest images, not only about the modeling field but also everyday moments to send to readers and those who love me.

Performing arts and participating in beauty pageants often cost a lot of money. Does Ngoc Anh receive financial support from her family or have any resources to pursue her passion?

- I have been independent and doing business since I was 18-19 years old and always had great spiritual support from my family for my steps and decisions.

People often think that participating in beauty contests will cost a lot of money, but for me, I always have a clear financial plan and divide the budget reasonably for each activity.

Therefore, preparing funds is not a big burden and I can control my own resources to pursue my passion for art in a sustainable way.

Can you share what business you do?

- When I was in high school, I started a clothing business and from there I was able to save up some money. When I went to college, I started working as a photo model and while I was in college, I still received financial support from my family.

Thanks to that, I saved a decent amount of money to start my own business. The first time I tried opening a coffee shop, although it only lasted about 2 years, it was a valuable experience that helped me learn and grow in my business career.

Currently, is Ngoc Anh in a relationship or single? What is Ngoc Anh's ideal type?

- Regarding the current relationship status, I would like to not share specifically.

As for the ideal model, for me, the man who makes my heart flutter must first have the ability to communicate delicately and be skillful in his behavior. The next important thing is that he needs to have a stable economic foundation, because I am an independent person, know how to support myself and also want my partner to be financially stable.

Regarding appearance, I do not focus on external appearance but on internal knowledge. A man with knowledge and moral qualities always brings positive energy and happiness to others.

Besides, I do not accept a man who is patriarchal or imposes his personal thoughts on others. In a relationship, understanding and respecting each other is the most important thing to go together on the long journey.

Ngoc Anh's work schedule is quite busy and requires a lot of energy. How do you maintain such energy?

- As everyone knows, artists' schedules are often very busy, so maintaining health is a key factor in maintaining energy and work efficiency. For me, physical training is always a top priority.

I spend time exercising regularly with sports such as pickleball, jogging, gym and yoga, these are all indispensable activities in my daily life. Gym helps me build muscle, yoga helps improve flexibility and strength, and pickleball not only helps me reduce stress but also creates opportunities to connect with friends and colleagues.

I always encourage everyone to find a suitable sport to maintain their health, while helping to release negative energy and recharge positive energy for life.
