Previously, on the afternoon of June 4, on his way to carry out his mission, Sergeant Dang Thai Nguyen saw a red handbag in the area where the Brigade organized for new soldiers to receive their relatives. Inside the bag was more than 76 million VND in cash, 2 citizen identification cards and some other personal documents. He immediately reported to the unit commander to post a notice on the Zalo group system "Soldiers' Rear". At 5:00 p.m. the same day, on the Zalo group, Ms. Dinh Thi Phuong, with permanent residence in Huong My commune, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province, contacted the unit commander to request the return of her lost property. Ms. Phuong is the mother of Private First Class Pham Chi Huu, a soldier in the same company as Comrade Nguyen. After verifying the information, in the presence of the commanders of Battalion 12 and Company 104, on the morning of June 7, Sergeant Dang Thai Nguyen returned all of his property to Ms. Phuong.
Sergeant Dang Thai Nguyen said: “I think picking up lost items and returning them to the owner is a very normal thing that anyone would do like me. As a squad leader and a member of the Youth Union, I need to set an example for the soldiers with the smallest actions. Along with that, I regularly practice and cultivate to implement the 12 disciplines well when interacting with the people.”
