That nostalgia is conveyed by Vietnamese children in the Czech Republic in the program Hanoi then and now - 10 years of a journey.
Taking place at the Dong Do Event Center in the capital city of Prague, the program recreated a thousand-year-old Hanoi with its heroic culture, landscapes, and typical cuisine . Coming to Hanoi past and present - a 10-year journey, those who love the capital can meet friends, share their love and nostalgia for their homeland, review the journey of memories and the present, and together feel the love for Vietnam right in the heart of Europe.
Attending the program were representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy, leaders of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic and many Vietnamese people living, studying and working in the Czech Republic and Europe.

Over the past 10 years, the program Hanoi then and now has become a bridge connecting, expressing love and national pride. This year's event not only marks a decade's journey but also has a special meaning as it has become a bridge connecting, spreading love and national pride of Czech expatriates with their homeland Vietnam.
The artistic performances in the program took the audience back in time, conveying a profound message about the memories of Hanoi. At the beginning, the Vietnamese community in Prague sang the song "Marching to Hanoi". The heroic melodies reminded the audience of the heroic spirit of the day the army and people marched to liberate the historic capital (October 10, 1954). Next, People's Artist Dieu Huong, with her powerful and emotional voice, brought the audience back to the memories and beauty of Hanoi.
The performance of Xam Ha Noi performed by Dieu An, a representative of the Vietnamese generation born in the Czech Republic, left a deep impression. Growing up in a foreign land, but through simple melodies and sincere emotions, Dieu An recreated the space of old Hanoi, expressing the attachment of the young generation to the roots of national culture. In particular, the performance of 12 Flower Seasons combined with the performance of Ao Dai, recreated a colorful picture of Hanoi with emotions about the beauty of Hanoi through each flower season. The graceful Ao Dai both honors the beauty of Vietnamese women and evokes national pride, helping the audience feel more clearly the connection and love for the homeland.
Besides the performances, a cozy space with images reminiscent of Hanoi also appeared in the program. That is the symbol of the ancient, elegant and mossy Quan Chuong Gate, the corners of the old streets to Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Post Office . The living atmosphere of Hanoi people during the heroic resistance years and peaceful life were meticulously and vividly recreated from the familiar signs of the old streets, each tea shop on the street corner, sidewalk eateries, docks, cyclos, Hanoi draft beer shops, Trang Tien ice cream shops...
Within the framework of the program, the community also enjoyed the full culinary delights of Hanoi. 18 carefully selected dishes such as fresh green rice, boiled peanuts, roasted peanuts with basil, banh cha, banh troi tau, pho, black jelly lotus tea, fried spring rolls, dried beef salad, etc. brought the sweet flavors of homeland to those far away from home.

Ten years is not a long journey, but enough for the program to become a familiar cultural meeting place, bringing the flavors, music and memories of Hanoi closer to the community.
The program has become a spiritual bridge, bringing the breath of Hanoi to the hearts of those living and working far from home, helping the Vietnamese community feel more clearly the value of national culture and love their homeland more.
