Hanoi earns nearly 2,000 billion VND from tourism during September 2 holiday

Hanoi Department of Tourism estimates 672,900 visitors to the capital during the National Day holiday on September 2, up 5% over the same period in 2023.
According to the report on the results of the 4-day holiday (August 31 - September 3), the total number of tourists to Hanoi , international tourists is estimated to welcome 58,900 arrivals, an increase of 35.8% over the same period last year. Some of the leading markets sending visitors include: India, Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan (China), Australia, the US, the UK... Domestic tourists are estimated to welcome 614,000 arrivals, a slight increase of 3.6% over the same period last year. This year, tourist areas and spots around the suburbs tend to increase dramatically. Total revenue from tourists is estimated to reach more than 2.18 trillion VND, an increase of 8.3% over the same period in 2023.

This year's National Day holiday lasts 4 days, so the demand for rest and travel increases. It is estimated that during the 4-day holiday, the average room occupancy rate of hotels and tourist apartments reached about 61.2%, an increase of 1.7% over the same period in 2023. Some 4-5 star hotels and luxury apartment complexes in Tay Ho and Dong Da districts... achieved quite high room occupancy rates, from 80% to 100%. For commercial centers, shopping, entertainment and dining establishments serving tourists, the number of visitors and revenue increased during the 4-day holiday. Tourist areas and attractions have been decorated and prepared with the best conditions to welcome tourists and people of the capital to visit and experience. Many programs and festivals to welcome Independence Day have been successfully organized, attracting a lot of attention from tourists such as: Walking space in Hoan Kiem Lake area and surrounding areas and walking streets in the old quarter with many vibrant and attractive cultural and artistic activities; Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, Son Tay town with the program "Happy Independence Day"; Bao Son Paradise Park, Hoai Duc district with the program "Fairyland Festival"... During this year's holiday, besides familiar tourist destinations in Hanoi such as: Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam; Hoan Kiem Lake area; Thang Long Imperial Citadel; One Pillar Pagoda; Thu Le Zoo or walking around the central area to see the ancient and quiet streets..., new tourist destinations including entertainment complexes such as: Lotte Mall Tay Ho; Vinhomes Ocean Park or suburban tourist areas and spots also continue to attract a large number of tourists to have fun, experience and relax. In addition, the Department of Tourism coordinated with the Thang Long Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center and the Vietnamese Village Communal House Club to organize the parade "Ao Dai connecting Tourism with Hanoi Heritage in 2024" attracting a large number of tourists and the active participation of officials, civil servants of agencies, units and people of the capital as well as domestic and international tourists. According to Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang, the work of ensuring security and safety has been seriously implemented by accommodation and tourism service units. The Department's "hotline" department has supported and provided information to more than 90 visitors who called, ensuring that visitors are received attentively.
