H&M seeks opportunities to expand retail chain in Ho Chi Minh City

DNVN - On the afternoon of September 4, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung received Mr. Saed El-Achkar - President of East Asia Region, H&M Group (Sweden) to work and explore opportunities to expand the retail system in the city.

At the meeting , Mr. Saed El-Achkar said that H&M is one of the world's leading fashion retail groups, currently having more than 4,000 stores in more than 75 countries and territories . This business has been present in Vietnam since 2017, with 14 stores and an online sales channel launched in 2023. In addition to retail , H&M also cooperates in production with many factories in Vietnam, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers .

H&M leaders expressed their desire to learn about the procedures for leasing locations and opening new stores in the center of Ho Chi Minh City ; and at the same time shared plans for applying technology , digital transformation and developing a modern , sustainable and environmentally friendly retail model .

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung highly appreciated the presence and contribution of H&M to the textile and garment industry and the Vietnamese fashion market. He said that after the administrative boundary merger with Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Binh Duong province , Ho Chi Minh City has more space and potential for H&M to expand its investment activities .

The city's leaders affirmed that the government always creates favorable conditions for international businesses, including H & M, and appreciates the support of the Swedish business community in the city 's economic development process .
